Tim Kirk is the Vice President of Marketing and Strategy for Toray Composite Materials America, Inc. Prior to his current role, he was VP of Sales and Marketing at Toray Composites, focused on prepreg sales to Aerospace and Industrial markets. As Vice President, Tim’s primary role is to position Toray as a preferred business partner and to develop strategies to effectively compete in a highly dynamic market. He brings over 25 years of aerospace and related experience with him and has a unique perspective on many related markets. Prior to joining Toray, he was a senior-level Supplier Program Manager with Boeing Commercial Airplanes in Seattle, WA. Tim’s role was developing and implementing system integration strategies across the Boeing Commercial Airplanes supply chain, including those involving high-volume composite raw materials. Tim also spent 18 months working as a staff consultant for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) in South Carolina, focused on the metalworking sector. Tim served 7 years in the US Army, with assignments in the US and Europe. He also was deployed and served two combat tours in the Middle East during his tenure. Tim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington. In 2006, Tim completed a 14-Month graduate program in Systems Design and Management (SDM) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and in 2009, he completed an Executive Certificate in Technology, Operations, and Value Chain Management, also from MIT. Tim is a private pilot, with a license for Single Engine Land (SEL) aircraft. Tim sits on the Board of Directors for the Aerospace Futures Alliance (AFA), promoting the aerospace manufacturing sector in Washington State.
